Frequently Asked Questions
The battery in the Parent Unit is not holding a charge.

Ensure that the battery is properly installed and connected to the Parent Unit. Look for the battery icon in the upper right corner of the display.
Check the installation of the power adapter, both at the electrical outlet and Parent Unit. The electrical outlet should not be controlled by a switch.
A full charge takes approximately 12 hours.
If the battery has been in service for more than one year, replace the battery. Batteries can be purchased at www.vtechphones.com.
I cannot hear my child on the Parent Unit

Try increasing the sensitivity level on the Parent Unit. The baby Unit may not detect sounds when the sensitivity level is set below a certain level. To adjust the sensitivity:
Step 1. Make sure the baby Unit(s) are turned On.
Step 2. Press MENU/SELECT when the Parent Unit is not in use.
Step 3. Press ▼ or ▲ to choose SENSITIVITY, then press MENU/SELECT.
Step 4. Press ▼ or ▲ to choose a desired Baby Unit or all Baby Unts, then press MENU/SELECT.
Step 5. Press ▼ or ▲ to scroll through the choices; Level 1-5; then press MENU/SELECT. You will hear a confirmation tone.
Try increasing the volume on your Parent Unit by pressing VOL +.
Make sure that the vibration feature isn't set to Always On. To turn off the vibration feature:
Step 1. Press MENU/SELECT when the Parent Unit is not in use.
Step 2. Press ▼ or ▲ to choose VIBRATION, then press MENU/SELECT.
Step 3. Press ▼ or ▲ to choose OFF, then press MENU/SELECT. You will hear a confirmation tone.
The Parent Unit may be too far away from the baby Unit. Try moving them closer together; however, not closer than 3 feet.
My Baby Unit does not work at all

Check the power supply and make sure it’s securely plugged in. You should only use the power supply provided with your baby monitor. Make sure the electrical outlet is working and not controlled by a wall switch.
Make sure both the parent unit and baby unit are turned on. Remember to press and hold the Power button on both units for at least two seconds to turn them on.
The parent unit may be too far away from the baby unit. Try moving them closer together; however, not closer than 3 feet.
Try resetting the parent and baby unit:
Step 1. Disconnect the power to the baby unit and parent unit.
Step 2. Remove the batteries in the parent and baby unit.
Step 3. Wait at least 60 secs.
Step 4. Resinstall the batteries and connect the AC adapter to the Baby and Parent Unit.
Step 5. Allow up to a minute for the baby unit and parent unit to link back up.
The battery in my Parent Unit won’t charge

Confirm proper installation of the battery and that the power supply is securely plugged in. The battery charge light should be on. You should only use the vtech power supply provided with your baby monitor. Make sure the electrical outlet is working and not controlled by a wall switch.
Try resetting the parent and baby unit:
Step 1. Disconnect the power to the baby unit and parent unit.
Step 2. Remove the batteries in the parent and baby unit.
Step 3. Wait approximately 15 secs.
Step 4. Resinstall the batteries and connect the power adapter to the baby and parent unit.
Step 5. Allow up to a minute for the baby unit and parent unit to link back up.
My Baby Monitor does not work at all or is performing erratically.

The parent unit may be too far away from the baby unit. Try moving them closer together; however, not closer than 3 feet.
Try resetting the parent and baby unit:
Step 1. Disconnect the power to the baby unit and parent unit.
Steo 2. Remove the batteries in the parent and bay unit.
Step 3. Wait approximately 15 secs.
Step 4. Resinstall adapter to the baby and parent unit.
Step 5. Allow up to a minute for the baby unit and parent unit to link back up
Noise static and other erratic performance may be caused by nearby electronic equipment and other cordless devices using the same frequency. Separate your baby monitor from these devices as much as possible.

If you have two cameras make sure that both are powered up (especially if your Parent Unit is set to patrol mode).
Wi-Fi devices can cause interference. Place the Parent Unit and camera(s) 3 feet away from laptops, tablets, cell phone, router, security cameras and other wireless streaming devices (FYI: your baby monitor operates on the same frequency as WIFI and you may experience interference if the devices are too close to each other).
The Parent Unit may be too far away from the Baby Unit. Walls, big metallic objects and other Wi-Fi devices may affect the connection between your Parent Unit and your camera(s). Try to move your Parent Unit (e.g. closer to camera or away from Wi-Fi devises) to find better reception.
If above tips did nor help, try resetting the Parent Unit and Baby Unit
Step 1. Disconnect the AC adapters from the Baby and Parent Units.
Step 2. Remove the battery from the Parent Unit.
Step 3. Wait a few minutes.
Step 4. Re-install the battery and connect the AC adapters to the Baby and Parent Units.
Step 5. Allow up to a minute for the Baby and Parent Units to synchronize.
My Parent Unit beeps sometimes

Whenever the link between the parent unit and baby unit is lost the parent unit will beep. Your video monitor No Link alert comes preset to On. To turn Off the No Link alert on your parent unit:
Step 1. Press MENU/SELECT when the Parent Unit is not in use.
Step 2. Press ▼ or ▲ to choose ALERT TONE, then press MENU/SELECT.
Step 3. Press ▼ or ▲ to choose No Link Alert, then press MENU/SELECT.
Step 4. Press ▼ or ▲ to choose between On or Off, then press MENU/SELECT. You will hear a confirmation tone.
How do I pair/register my Baby Unit to my Parent Unit?

Step 1. Press MENU/SELECT when the Parent Unit is not in use.
Step 2. Press ▼ or ▲ to choose PAIR/UNPAIR CAM, then press MENU/SELECT.
Step 3. Press MENU/SELECT again to choose PAIR new CAM.
Step 4. Press ▼ or ▲ to choose a Baby Unit slot, then press MENU/SELECT.
Step 5. Screen displays Please press both [+] and [-] keys on CAM side until POWER indicator flashes red then green. Immediately, press and hold + and - for 5 seconds on the Baby Unit. The screen will display the image from the newly paired Baby Unit.
The maximum number of Baby Units you can have paired to the Parent Unit is 4.
If, after several attempts, you are unsuccessful, try resetting the Parent and Baby Unit:
Step 1. Disconnect the power to the Baby Unit and Parent Unit.
Step 2. Remove the batteries in the Parent and Baby Unit.
Step 3. Wait approximately 15 secs.
Step 4. Resinstall the batteries and connect the power adapter to the Baby and Parent Unit.
Step 5. Repeat the pairing steps listed above.
I cannot broadcast from my Parent Unit to my Baby Unit

Make sure you press and hold the TALK button while speaking into the microphone.
The Talk feature does not work in multi-CAM mode. To change to single CAM mode, press the VIEW button.
